Turkey Shoot, Nerf War, Girls Night Out…and no one got hurt!

This weekend I got to see my cute buddy with the matching boot. Isn’t she so sweet? This definitely makes me feel better about wearing mine!

The kids have half days last Friday and this week (don’t ask – I have no idea) which leaves more time for fun. They kicked off their shortened schedule with a lunch date with their friends. Well, maybe it was more of a snack date.

They are just getting to the age where they make their own plans that are sort of realistic. The boys in Aidan’s class planned a very detailed capture the flag Nerf War for this weekend. These boys are such great kids. They had a great time.

After they were thoroughly worn out (and at a sleepover party) I got to catch up with the girls – at night!!!

The Turkey Shoot (BB Gun Target shooting) event that I have been working on was this weekend too. We got very lucky with the weather! And also with the people who helped us this year. It ended up being a very fun event.

The boys love target shooting and we are thankful to have the opportunity to do this with all of our friends.

Of course the boys always look forward to playing football and running around in the woods with their friends too. For some reason food always tastes awesome at camp.

Look at this cute dragonfly my friend Angela caught! Lisa and I got to catch up finally too.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day and I couldn’t have been happier when my good friend had us to dinner afterwards. Thanks Loren! It was fun to relax and catch up after a busy weekend.

So, I am wondering, do you think kids should eat lunch at school on half days?

I think it is time for me to admit that I caved and jumped on the selfie bandwagon.  I know, I know…  But I am really only into selfies with other people.  There are just some times that you can’t ask someone to take a picture for you.  Like when the girls and I were out last night.

Or today at our good friend’s communion.

Now if only I could figure out where the camera lens is for a selfie, it might not look like I am staring into space!

Aidan played a great game yesterday.  His team was up for most of the game, but ended up losing by one run.  It was an exciting game.

Today was pet bath day – always an interesting event in our house.  None of our pets are very fond of baths!  You can tell by the dirty looks they are all giving me afterwards.

So, I am wondering, do your pets like baths?

Catching Up With The Girls

First of all, I want to thank everyone who wore their jeans today.  I saw many of you and others sent me pictures and it means a lot to us.  Thanks!  Of course the boys and I wore ours too.

Jeans Day2

In order to get this picture we decided to learn how to use the timer function on my camera.  You should have seen us!  We just could not seem to get all three of us settled and in the picture at the same time.  We were laughing like crazy and then it was just a lost cause.  But it was fun.

Jeans Day1

I got to catch up with some of my girls last night for wings and Yuenglings.  We missed the few who couldn’t get free, but it was sure nice to hang out and chat with the girls who made it.  I really need to eat wings with friends more often.  My boys are adventurous and like spicy food, but then I have to clean them up at the end of the meal.  LOL

Girls Night2

I can’t wait for our beach days when we get to see each other more often.  Is everyone dreaming of summer about now?

Girls Night1

The forecast for this weekend is very cold – followed by more cold and possibly a lot of snow.  What a surprise.  We have a fun weekend planned anyway so we will just ignore the weather.  Both boys have their last basketball games of the season tomorrow and Aidan has baseball practice (really??  It’s going to be 20 degrees if we are lucky!).  Of course there is a conflict in timing.  Then we will have dinner with friends.  I am so excited for Sunday because I am taking the boys into the city to see a show and hit some fun spots they have not been to yet.  Let’s hope the snow holds off until Sunday night.  The kids won’t mind another delayed opening…

So, I am wondering, do you talk about your kids when you are out with friends?

Girls Night Out

The girls and I finally got a night out!  We used mine and Sandy’s birthday as an excuse.

You notice Sandy decided not to wear birthday bling!  Next time I will be sure to bring her some.  😉

friends.JPGWe hired a car and headed to Dos Caminos in Harrah’s Resort for a Mexican feast.

Dos Caminos

The famous “guac” was delicious, but spending time with my girls was definitely the highlight.

girls1.JPGI am so lucky to have such great friends.  Can’t wait for next time!

So, I am wondering, how did you find the perfect babysitter?
