The Eagle has landed. Or the chihuahua, actually. He is such a good little traveler. He just takes it all in stride -” another adventure with my crazy people”. Shuttle buses, planes, new “friends” – hotels.
It was no small feat making it this far though! We had a crazy weekend starting with camping with the Cub Scouts. There is just no way I can explain to you why these trips are so amazing. Of all people, I have never been a camper. But these trips are amazing times spent with my boys and great friends.
The boys collected sticks and played games with their friends and just enjoyed being boys in the woods.
Aidan was elected Patrol Leader for his rank and enjoyed a lot more freedom on this trip. I am always surprised at just how much the boys love this. It was a great trip for Aidan. Here he is with his leader stick.
His patrol worked on building fires and putting up tents. They also got to cook meals this time!
Of course Gaga ball was a highlight. Dane is very proud that he was the last man standing in a round that included the Boy Scouts.
Camping would not be complete without BB gun shooting. I even had an opportunity to shoot this trip.
We also had an away soccer game this weekend. I am so incredibly proud of my team! They really put their hearts into the game and it paid off. Dane is happy to have a shut out added to his goalkeeper stats as well.
Here is a picture from our first game this season that a friend shared with me. You know how hard it is to take pictures when you are coaching!
So, I am wondering, do you like camping?
